Ten years ago
today,
Nashville experienced something
that doesn't happen too often; a tornado
in a metropolitan downtown area.
Actually, there was a total of 3
tornados that touched down within
Davidson County that afternoon,
rated as an F-3, F-2 and F-1 tornado. In
May of 2000, there were 3 confirmed
tornado touchdowns and in May of 2003
there were 2. We can even get tornados
in winter season, as was proven in
November of 2005. Then the most recent
one for
Davidson county was in April of
2006.

We are
sharing this information with you today
to make sure you don't let your guard
down. It is extremely important that
everyone is prepared for any type of
emergency that may happen in our area.
So, let
me ask you a few questions:
1. Do
you have a NOAA Emergency Alert Radio?
With batteries?
2. Do
you know where to take shelter during a
tornado warning while at home and/or
work?
3. Do
your children know where to take
shelter?
4. Do
you have an
emergency supply kit at home? In
the trunk of your car?
5. Do
you have a family emergency
communications plan? Have you practiced
this plan?
If you
answered No to any of the above
questions, it is not too late to prepare
yourself and your loved ones now, before
an emergency does happen.
It is
up to YOU to take the important first
step of getting prepared, NOW! Before it
is too late.
As
always, please feel free to let us know
if we can assist you in being better
prepared.
Thank
you and have a wonderful sunny day!
